I went to a general store the other day. They wouldn’t let me buy anything specific.

Apple Defects' Stellar Reporting Shows Again

July 8, 2006 - 11:39am

This one’s priceless. This goes to show the level of stupidity at Apple Defects, that he intends to harm Apple’s image without concern for accuracy, and that he’s trying desperately to find things to “report” on.

More Electrical News…

A user on YouTube has posted a video of his MagSafe Power Adapter issuing electrical discharges from around the rubber base. The MagSafe is a great invention however it is not without problems, in the past users have reported their MagSafe adapters igniting into flame and melting, amongst other issues. One would assume this particular MagSafe adapter is slowly beginning to fray and the protective rubber shield is no longer functioning problem.

We assume this is an isolated incident, in the unlikely event your MagSafe is issuing electrical shock or discharge, it would be wise to contact AppleCare immediately.

Let’s break this down, and kudos to JC for pointing out the largest problem here.

First, that’s a reflection off the shiny plastic in that clip. A shock must have a ground point, usually on another object. That’s just light.

Second, the user is intentionally tensioning the cable and dragging the computer around with it. If there’s anything that will cause breaking in the endpoint of a cable, it’s intentional abuse of the device.

The last, and most hilarious, point to make was brought up by JC. What’s wrong with the photo I included above? The light isn’t on. The adapter is not plugged in. Apple Defects is claiming that an adapter is issuing shocks when the adapter isn’t plugged in, said “shocks” are not jumping to a ground point, and all happen to coincide with a shiny part of the plastic.

I would have left a comment on his site but he’s turned off comments for the post and even if he hadn’t, he deletes every comment I leave.

There’s your journalism, folks. Real impressive. I can’t wait for Apple to sue this bastard.

HEY ... I can reproduce this with my Macbook! Just let me go over by the window so I have a good light source to reflect.

What a dipshit. It’s only a matter of time before this jackass gets the pants sued off of him.

Nicely worded entry, by the way!

You would be if you were plugged in.

Thank goodness enough of it is documented here to illustrate well… how shockingly ridiculous that site really is.

That’s the idea. Screencaps and clones all the way. Any time he gets flack he pulls things, so that’s the way the game gets played.

I can’t even take screenshots of his forum any more. I’ve been banned again – haven’t posted in 7 to 10 days either.
